June is the unsung hero of spring. Summer takes all the credit for what makes the month good, but it’s the breeze at the front of June — the excited energy that lingers in the air as it feels like the year is actually drawing to a close — that seals the expansion sweeping in.

I love getting dressed for in-between time: when the busy days of the school year are still in progress, before the lazy and slow dead of summer (which calls for not much more than a reappropriated night gown) are actually here.

Basically, there is still reason to get dressed.

It doesn’t feel silly or beside the point. Or redundant. More like the outfits actually count — so I do. Count them, I mean.
